Here is an underutilized tree in Vermont. The 3"-6" alternate, simple, lustrous dark green leaves turn a beautiful yellow, orange to red in the fall. It prefers moist well drained soils but will tolerate clay soils. The perfect specimen for the front yard where it can be admired in all seasons.

Handsome tree for lawns and naturalized areas. Forms a graceful medium sized tree with horizontal and drooping branches. Foliage is dark green during the growing season turn golden yellow in fall. Hop - like fruit add interest in late - summer.  Prefers moist, well drained soils. Will tolerate dry locations.

An impressive tree, naturally found near streambanks. Grows 75-100' tall with irregular growth, large maple-shaped leaves and white and gray mottled bark. An excellent specimen is growing in Shelburne on Falls Road.

This weeper is a uniformed grower that creates a graceful looking specimen. The small pink flowers that adorn this tree in April-May always are a welcome with spring.

This majestic oak grows to have a broad, open, round top crown with handsomely rugged bark. Foliage is dark green with a silvery underside, turning reddish bronze in autumn. Valley Forge Elm

This is the elm found to be the most resistant to Dutch Elm Disease. A full and dense canopy with the classic elm V-shaped branching structure. A medium to fast grower, growing 10-12' in five years. Dark green leaves in summer and yellow in fall.
