Impressionist Oil Painting in the Garden

Course Title: Impressionist Oil Painting in the Garden

Date: Tuesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 12, 2023

Time: 10 AM - 2:00 PM each day

Cost: $75 per person, per day

 

Working within the context of Impressionism, we will create oil paintings that capture the color, light and beauty of a garden as it is observed plein air. We will explore the role that color and the quality of light play on what we observe and discover ways to capture those atmospheric moments with paint. Participant will need to supply their own materials, a suggested materials list will be emailed to participants. Beginner and experienced oil painters are welcome.

About the Instructor: Christine graduated from the Swain School of Design and studied Impressionist painting techniques at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, MA. She has taught at the Provincetown Art Association and enjoys sharing what she has learned about painting and spending time with other artists. She recently moved to Shelburne, VT and is excited to get out and paint this summer. Her work can be seen on her website christineniles.art and on Instagram@septemberluna.
