Community Support
A thank you card from students for their Arbor Day tree
Horsford’s is supported by many great communities throughout Vermont and New York. To show our thanks, we assist a number of organizations and causes each year.
Greening Schools on Arbor Day
Vermont’s Arbor Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday in May. National Arbor Day was founded in 1872 in Nebraska by J. Sterling Morton.
For over 25 years, local schools in Chittenden and Addison counties have planted hundreds of big, beautiful trees donated by Charlie and Eileen of Horsford’s to help celebrate Arbor Day in partnership with Vermont Urban and Community Forestry.

While we wish we could support every request, we have a limited capacity for giving each year. Preference is given for organizations who are our customers. Donations are on a first-come, first-served basis. We also prefer to support causes that benefit the environment, gardening, hunger relief in local communities, education access, and art.
