This hardiest of the Pussy Willows' produces silvery catkins (pussyfeet) which appear before the leaves. The female catkins can be forced easily by bringing them into a warm room in mid-winter. Does best in moist areas. Prune after flowering to promote more blooms for next season. This is a very adaptable plant that can handle wet soils with ease. The best flowering will occur in full sun.
