Amelanchier alnifolia

Saskatoon Serviceberry

$34.98

By April, fragrant white clusters of flowers endure in bloom, meticulously manufacturing the sweet dark berries which amelanchiers are so famous for. This native gives freely in nutrition, in shelter, and in saccharine delight, to native bees, birds, butterflies, mammals, and humans alike. It also transitions to winter in a beautiful display of red and orange. (Farmers should caution that excessive browsing of its twigs and leaves by animals could be dangerous, due to the concentration of cyanide in those parts.)
