A perennial, fall-blooming crocus that produces the coveted spice saffron. Plant in late summer, blooms in October, evergreen foliage will last through spring. We have staff that grow this hardy plant in zone 4 Middlesex and in heavy Addison County soils. We like to tuck saffron throughout the perennial garden and underplant other perennials like peony and asparagus with it.
