Developed in 1952 at Washington State University, the 'Rainier' cherry is a cross between the 'Bing' and the 'Van' cherries. It is known to have highly fragrant white flowers in the spring that are followed by some of the sweetest cherries you can get! These cherries are known for their yellow flesh with a red blush at the top of the fruit and are quite resistant to cracking. If you can get to the cherries before the wildlife does, you can use them for fresh eating or canning. Plant with a second variety for pollination.
