Sambucus canadensis

American Elderberry

Ordering plants has concluded for the season. The selection on our website is what is overwintered at the nursery. Our Spring 2023 plant catalog will be available later this winter.

A hardy, low maintenance native. Fast growing, especially in moist areas, with beautiful white flowers in spring and edible purple-black fruit in fall. Fruit can be used to make preserves, wine, and herbal remedies. Fantastic food source for wildlife. Typically self-fertile, but plant two for best fruit production.
