One of our native spiraeas, steeplebush is well suited to a wide range conditions typically found in the Northeast. Easily handles moist soils and can even handle periods of standing water. Spreads by suckers to form a 2-4' tall mound of stems which are topped by steeple-shaped pink flower clusters from mid-summer through early autumn. Host plant for the lovely Columbia silkmoth ( Hyalophora columbia). Great choice for naturalizing and rain gardens.
