Growing to 12 feet tall, this adaptable evergreen has a dense columnar habit. Makes an interesting accent mixed in a garden or can be used to create a formal columnar hedge. "Smaragd" is Danish for "emerald", which is the other common name for this particular selection of our native arborvitae, which ironically was developed in the Netherlands.
