A lovely native viburnum with maple-leaf foliage which gives its name. Small white flower clusters extend above the foliage in late spring and are followed by clusters of black berries in late summer. More shade tolerant than other viburnums and very trouble-free, this one is perfect for naturalizing a woods edge or north side of a structure. Fall brings on this plant's greatest ornamental attribute - spectacular foliage in various shades of deep red. Great wildlife habitat plant.
