Borne of white spring flowers, the fruit of this Russian heirloom apple looks to be streaked in red colored pencil. The flavor is very tart and citrusy, and the consistency excellent for sauce, chutney, or a zesty dried apple snack. Should be pruned in winter during dormancy.
