Quercus ellipsoidalis

Northern Pin Oak

Ordering plants has concluded for the season. The selection on our website is what is overwintered at the nursery. Our Spring 2024 plant catalog will be available later this winter

Northern pin oak is much more tolerant of clay and alkaline soils than its close relative Q. palustris. This large oak is adaptable and hardy. It tends to display good maroon-red fall foliage and leaves often persist on the tree into winter.
