This double flowered selection of wild Persian rose puts on quite the show in early summer when it opens its bright yellow blooms. This was one of the first yellow flowering roses brought to Europe in the 1500's and has been important in the breeding of many newer yellow roses. This species is a large and free flowing shrub. It only blooms once but the preponderance of the bloom more than makes up for its singularity.
