Abstracting the Garden in Watercolor
Event: Abstracting the Garden in Watercolor
Dates: Sunday June 14, Sunday August 16
Time: 10AM - 12PM
Artist Instructor: Tiffany Shaw
Cost: $55
In this workshop, you will experience a fresh perspective by zooming in on the intricate details
of flowers and foliage. We will capture the essence of a plant by observing so closely that the
subject becomes a series of flowing, emotional shapes.
You will learn to quiet the critical mind, free yourself from the pressure of a "perfect"
representational product, and invite a meditative flow state. Through a series of exercises, we
will experiment with watercolor techniques including wet-on-wet, blending, and glazing. This
class is designed for all skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced artists looking to
loosen their style.
Materials provided. We will begin the workshop in the rustic antique barn at Horsford Nursery
and have a chance to roam the gardens for inspiration. Feel free to bring your favorite folding
chair to ensure your comfort.
