A strong upright growing juniper with rich, dark green needles that retain their color well during the winter months. Excellent for a hedge or as a specimen, J. virginiana is native to a large area of the continent and is adaptable to an exceptionally wide variety of soils. A very tough and hardy species once established. 'Emerald Sentinel' is noted for its fast growth rate and abundant display of blue berry-like cones which are adored by many bird species. Handles salt exposure with ease.
