The bluest of all the spruce, Hoopsi grows up to 30' tall and 20' wide. Intense silvery-blue needles are the highlight and retain their color well throughout the seasons. This cultivar is slightly irregular and a touch more open than some other dwarf selections, lending it a more natural and unique form. Blue spruce are tolerant of cold, drought, wind, and variable soil pH. They will suffer in areas with poor drainage.
