The soft, lacy foliage of the Canadian hemlock makes it a favorite in Vermont landscapes. Can be pruned as a hedge or grown as a large, stately tree. Very adaptable species that can be found growing in all types of inclement conditions. Best growth/health will occur in areas with moist, acidic, well drained soils that are sheltered from extreme winds. Will grow in full sun or deep shade.
